The royal baby name effect

George was born, and suddenly every second baby boy was named George. Charlotte was born, and every second baby girl was named Charlotte. Louis was born, and... well, Louis didn't quite take off, but you get the idea.

The royal baby effect is real. When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a baby, the whole world tunes in. And when they announce the name, parents everywhere start making notes. George went from "grandpa name" to "top 10 name" overnight. Charlotte went from "classic but dusty" to "everywhere".

The funny thing is, the effect only works if the name is already cool. If they'd named their baby something weird like "Archibald", we probably wouldn't have followed suit. But George? Charlotte? Those are solid names. We were going to name our kids that anyway. The royals just gave us permission.

So thank you, royal family, for doing our research for us. We'll take it from here. Now can we please have a royal baby named "Kevin"? Just to mix things up.
